Snow Day #2

We had a great Snow day today!

This is us on our way to the grocery store today.  Joe picked mama up so we could grab a few essentials.....dog food, cat food, stuff to make chilly, etc.

The roads were pretty slick!  I could 've never driven on them!

We don't frequent Knight's too much, but there wasn't much of a choice today!  (It's the only grocery store in Beebe!)

We got the stuff to make chilly.  It was so yummy!

This is on the way to take mama home.  There was lots of snow!

Mama's house in the snow.

Looking down mama's street.

Joe playing in the backyard with Molly.  She LOVES the snow!

Molly biting a snow ball Joe threw!  Mama made Molly's jacket.  Isn't it cute?!?
Molly in the snow.

Holly in the snow on the back porch.

Foot prints in the snow.  Funny story about foot prints in the snow.  Joe and mama found cat foot prints in the snow in the backyard.  Mama's cat's do not go outside, so they were interested where they came from.  Joe followed the foot prints into the boat.  He said there were no foot prints where the cat left the boat, so he looked under the seat where the ladder is and all of a sudden mama and I heard a scream.  (Joe screamed because the cat startled him.  I don't think he actually expected to find one!)  A cat came running out of the boat across the backyard and climbed the fence with Molly on his/her heals.  Poor cat!  I hope it has some where warm to sleep tonight!

Then Joe decided to make snow angels.

I think mama got more snow than we did!

When we got home, Percie and I took a walk around campus.

Snow in the sunshine is so pretty!
We had a great snow day, ate some good chilly, and now I'm watching Miss America.  Could the day get any better?!?

(Now I just hope I can make it to church tomorrow because I'm supposed to teach children's church!)

No Work Today! Hooray!

I woke up at 4:30 a.m. to the sound of sleet hitting the bedroom window.  I was really hoping for a day off........and I got a call from Michelle at 6:30 a.m. saying "We don't have to work today!"  Yay!  I'm surprised I didn't wake up Joe with my dancing and screaming!  I turned off the alarm and went back to sleep.  Joe woke me up at 8:30 saying, "Rae, it is 8:30......you are late for work!"  I had to laugh.  I guess he really did sleep through the 6:30 phone call!  Ha!  I woke up for good at 10:00.  It was so nice to sleep in!

This is what it looked like outside our front door this morning around 10.

There was no snow or ice falling.

And you can still see the grass.

Percie loves her new outfit!

And this is Percie walking across the parking lot at about 3:00 this afternoon.

She was so excited to be out in the ice and snow.

Percie wore her hunter orange jacket since her daddy felt like he had to dress in his full camo.  Ha!

Percie playing in the snow.

It was still falling like crazy when we were out playing in it!

I have a cute video of Percie playing in the snow, but I can't figure out how to put it on here.  Maybe I can get some help and add it soon!

After playing in the snow, I came inside and made the best snow day meal....cheese dip!

It was so good!

This is what Sophie, Oliver, and Percie did while I was making cheese dip.  But Percie doesn't like the kittens.......can't you tell?!?  Ha!

We had a great snow day!
I really wanted to do a little shopping tomorrow, but oh well.....looks like we will be stuck tomorrow, too!

Mackenzie's Letters

My friend Michelle just repainted her daughter Mackenzie's room pink......Mackenzie's favorite color of course.  She was trying to decide whether or not to rehang her letters that spell her name on the wall.  She was afraid they would not stand out as well on the pink walls.  She was also a little worried that they were too small.  So, I had seen on a few blogs where they had put frames around the letters and decided to give it a try.

Michelle brought me the letters.  I went to Wal-Mart on my lunch break and got 9 white picture frames and some ribbon.  When we were at Hobby Lobby I got some burlap.  I took the glass out of the picture frames (anyone have any creative ideas for the nine pieces of 5x7 glass??) and hot glued the burlap to the back of the frame.  Then I hot glued the letters to the burlap.  Next, I hot glued the ribbon to the back of all of the frames and tied the bows.

What would I do without a hot glue gun?!?

I like the way they turned out.

I hope the white frames will really "pop" on the pink walls.

I can't wait to see them hanging on Mackenzie's wall!
And yes, Mackenzie does spell her name M-A-C-K-E-N-Z-I-E.......and the C is left out in the picture above.  The C fell off the wall and Michelle put it away so she could find it after they got the walls painted.  Right now it is no where to be found, but I made a frame so when she finds it all she will have to do is hot glue it on the burlap.

I will have to take a picture after Michelle gets the letters hung on the wall.  I can't wait to see, and I hope Mackenzie loves them!

Fun Day

Today Joe and I went to Little Rock for a little shopping.

First we stopped at Just Dogs!  It is such a cute dog store in the Promenade on Chenal.

We haven't taken Percie yet, but I know she would LOVE it!  I found some cute stuff for her birthday next Friday!

Look at the gourmet dog treats!  Aren't they cute?!?

We also stopped by one of our favorite stores......Hobby Lobby!!  I am working on a few projects.....one of which I will blog about next.

Then I had to run into Petsmart real fast to get some kitten food for Sophie and Oliver.  And I found.....

Percie a new sweater outfit.......

for 50 % OFF!!  Now that is a great deal!  And Isn't it cute?!? It has legs!

Then we stopped for supper at Old Chicago in N. Little Rock.  We had never eaten there before and decided to be adventurous and try it out.

It was wonderful!  Joe is giving me the crazy eye because he didn't want me to take his picture.  Anyway.....he got the Thai Pie.  In Joe's words, "It's a Chinese food pizza!  My two favorites in one!"  It had some kind of Thai sauce, teriyaki chicken, onions, mushrooms, Roma tomatoes, and I can't remember what else.  He LOVED it!

I got a build your own personal pan pizza with cheddar, mozzarella, and bacon. It was HUGE and tasted great!  I think we will probably be visiting Old Chicago again.  And of course we brought home leftovers, so we will get to enjoy it again tomorrow!

Maranda and Rae's 30th Birthday Bash

My 30th Birthday was January 17, and one of my BFFs and college roommate, Maranda's, 30th birthday was January 22....so Maranda and Josh were nice enough to host our 30th birthday party at their house.

The food table.

A lot of our friends were able to come.  Thanks guys!

Michelle and mama.

James, Natalie, and Baby Bella.

Christy.

Maranda and I with our cake.

I got the cake at Cutie Cakes in Searcy.  The top layer was strawberry and the bottom layer was french vanilla.  It tasted so good! (Thanks Michelle for picking it up for me.  I did not go to work on Thursday or Friday because of this crazy sickness, so Michelle picked up the cake for me and brought it to the party!)

Natalie, Michelle, mama, and Annslie hanging out in the kitchen.

Ima, Jennifer, and Maranda toasting Maranda's birthday.

Christy and Michelle.

Me and Christy.
(Thanks so much for coming Christy and to Crunch for keeping Carson so Christy could come.  Christy drove to Cabot from Texarkana Saturday after working all night Friday night then drove back to Texarkana after the party and ended up getting home around midnight.  Not to mention the rain she had to drive in!  Thanks again Christy.  It was great to see you!)

Josh and Maranda.

Maranda and I opening our presents from each other.  I still can't get over how curly my hair is!  All I did was put a little moose in it and blow dry it on low.  It is just crazy to me that I just woke up one morning and had curly hair!!

Joey and Joe.

Me, Annslie, and Natalie.  (We missed you Carie!)

Annslie trying to feel Baby Bella move.

Annslie saying something funny.  Are you surprised!?!

Crystal and Maranda singing karaoke.

Joe fell asleep.....

So Annslie woke him up!

Ha!

Ima and Annslie.  Funny Annslie story:  Annslie says....."I did it backwards.  I thought you were supposed to lick before you took the shot."  Everyone else:  "Cracks up!"  Ima:  "That's why it is called chasing the shot with the lime.  You lick after you take the shot!"  Ha!  And let me tell you...this is not Annslie's first time to take a shot.  She cracks me up!  Annslie, Joey, and Maranda were the life of the party.

Michelle and me.

Maranda and Annslie singing karaoke.  Love Shack I think.

Joey singing karoke.  Entertaining everyone....of course!

Joey getting into it!

Annslie and mama singing karaoke.  They sang "I've Got You Babe".  Ha!

I had a great time, and I hope everyone else did, too.
(Mama, Joe, and I ended up leaving around midnight.  Everyone else was still having a great time, but that is the longest I've been out of bed since Monday!  Ha!  I always end up sick when I have something fun to do!  Oh well...I had a great time anyway!)

Happy Birthday Maranda and thanks for hosting the party.
It brought back many memories from many college birthday parties!
