Back to the Vet

That's right...on Friday Percie had to go back to the vet. She had been having stomach problems off and on all week. I had talked to the vets office a few times, and on Friday they decided they needed to see her. You know you are at the vet's office to much when the vet walks in and says "I see the problem child is back". They ran a bunch of tests and found nothing. (Not a big surprise!) The vet prescribed 4 medicines plus her thyroid medicine. It's a good thing she likes cheese! She has been fine this weekend. She an Molly have been running and playing like crazy! Hopefully this medicine will do the trick!

Joe's mom and dad were back this weekend to finish the fence!

This is the right side across the back of the yard. The fence looks great!! This is the right side across the front. All that is left are the gates!!

This is the left side across the back of the yard. The boat and camper fit great in the back yard. I never realized how big this yard really is!

This is the left side of the front of the house. You can see where the big gate is going to be. The camper and boat fit through it great!

Thank you so much Dannie and Charlotte for building the fence! It is wonderful!

Percie Has Hair!!

I guess fur is really the correct word, but Percie does not know she is a dog. So we are going to go with hair!! Percie's thyroid medicine is working great, and you can barely tell where her hair was shaved!!See!! You can kind of see the square where her hair is growing back. I wish I had a before picture. I haven't really been able to tell a difference in Percie since she has been on the medicine except for the hair growing back. I hope the medicine helps her feel good, though. If it keeps her hair from falling out, we will definitely continue it!

Sorry (to the 2 people who read my blog) that I haven't updated recently. Not much has been going on. All of the guys moved back in the dorm this weekend, so Joe has been super busy. The first week of school is always crazy!! So we haven't been doing much worth blogging about. One thing I am really excited about is that ASU Beebe is now a smoke free campus!! It is so nice to be able to walk into the apartment and not have 50 guys standing outside our door smoking!! (Well maybe not 50, but it sure seems like it!) I can't wait until the weather gets a little cooler and we can prop our front door open (we don't have a window in our living room) and let the fresh air in. We have tried to do this on numerous occasions, and someone always comes outside to smoke. So we have to close the door or our apartment will soon be smelling like an ash tray.

Tonight Joe and I went to mama's and she grilled pork chops and chicken breasts. It was great! Molly enjoyed playing with Percie!

Aren't they cute?! They played tug-a-war with this bone for a while...in Joe's lap of course. They love sitting with him in the recliner.

Percie kept turning her head so Molly couldn't get the bone. She does this to Joe and I when we play with her, too. She is so funny!! (At least we think so!)

Oh, and mama and I are official members of First United Methodist Church Beebe. We transferred our membership last Sunday. Yeah! I have been attending this church off and on since we moved here, but never transferred my membership. Now it is official, and I am glad.

We do have plans this weekend, so as long as I don't forget my camera I should have something to blog about!

Guess Who Came to Visit...

We found out Friday that Percie's thyroid level is off, which we suspected. The vet put her on thyroid medicine that she has to take twice a day. She is really getting used to this taking medicine thing (aka getting to eat a slice of cheese). I hope the medicine makes her feel better, and makes the hair grow back on her back. (She had surgery in April to have a cyst removed and they had to shave her back. The hair has never grown back.)

Joe and I met Annslie at Red Lobster in Little Rock Friday night for dinner.

While we were there I got a message that the Gant's were on there way to Beebe! Yeah! Joe and I stopped by Wal-mart on our way home to get a few groceries (it was payday), and then went to mama's to see Crunch, Christy, Corbin, and Carson.

Carson has grown SO much! Isn't he cute?! I just love his cheeks! Nothing is cuter than a chubby baby!

And Corbin is getting SO tall! Look at that grin. Isn't he cute?!I had a great time playing cars with Corbin! (Percie was jealous. She kept getting in the way. Corbin would tell her "move Percie!")

I also had fun snuggling with Carson. I can't believe he is already 3 months old!

This is where Molly spent most of her time because she was a little too excited that she had visitors!Joe's mom and dad came on Saturday to work on the fence they are building for mama's huge yard. I am so thankful that they are willing and able to build this fence. Molly really needs a place to run, and I am not the handy type. I don't know the first thing about building a fence. Thankfully Joe's toes are better, and he helped his mom and dad work on the fence all day! They got so much done!! Now it is just time for the planks. Joe told me that the hard part is done, and it should be easier to get all the planks up. I can't even imagine how many planks it will take for this fence!

I will leave you with a picture of Christy and Carson. I just can't get over how cute he is!!

Thank you Gant's so much for coming to visit! And thank you so much Dannie and Charlotte for working on the fence!

Petsmart Fun

Last Thursday (I am a little behind), Joe, mama, Percie, Molly, and I made a trip to Petsmart.Molly and Percie in their matching dresses. Aren't they cute?! I found these dresses at the Cornerstone Shoppe in Mt. View. They have the cutest dog clothes. I'm afraid they are not going to sell them anymore though. They had marked everything down to 75% off. (These dresses included! I love a good deal!)Molly likes to walk around Petsmart on her leash...and Percie likes riding in the buggy.

Poor Molly gets so car sick. We gave her Dramamine and she did not get sick on the way there. BUT, we decided to go to Petco after Petsmart, and she got sick on that short drive. Poor Molly! She hates riding in the car, because she knows she is going to get sick. You have to pick her up and make her get in. Percie got car sick when she was a puppy, so hopefully Molly will grow out of it!

Percie rode in Joe's lap on the way home. (I cut off her ears in this picture. It is so hard to get a good picture of her with the delay on my camera.)

And Molly rode on the dog bed in the back seat. Molly got some new toys (she is very rough on her toys) and some chew bones (she goes through at least one a day). The cats got a new scratching pad. Percie also got a few chew bones. She is so funny. She has never wanted a chew bone at our house. She will chew them at Nanny and Poppy's house because Max and Angel are there, and she will chew them at mama's house because Molly and Holly are there. She loves to take the bones away from Max, Angel, and Molly. (She doesn't mess with Holly.) So we decided to get a few for our house to try again. No luck. The only time she will touch it is when Joe throws it playing fetch with her. She will bring it back to him, but not chew on it. I bet if we took it to mama's house and Molly even looked at it she would chew it!

I'm sorry Molly got sick, but other than that we had a great trip to Petsmart!

Rylee Turns 4

Yesterday was my niece Rylee's 4th Birthday. When I got off work we headed to Bay to Malinda and Roy's house for Rylee's party. The sky was crazy looking. The picture above is what the sky looked like out my window in the car. There are a few clouds, but the sun is shining. This is what the sky looked like out Joe's window in the car. It was totally dark with crazy clouds. The wind blew really hard and it rained on us some, but thankfully not the whole way. Here is Rylee with her number 4 shirt with her name on it that her mama made. Isn't it cute!

Rylee loves horses. Her mama made and decorated this cake. She is so talented! Doesn't it look great?!

Here is Rylee blowing out her candles. She loved everyone singing happy birthday to her!Eating the cake and ice cream is the best part!Rylee loves opening presents. She requested baby stuff "like diapers and bibs". So of course Aunt Rae and Uncle Joe got baby stuff...diapers and bibs included. She is so girly, and I love it!

Already giving her baby a bath in the baby bath tub we got her. I wonder how long it will take her to realize she could put real water in there and not "just pretend". If I know Rylee, it won't take long!

Rylee also requested that Percie come to her birthday party. Isn't that funny?! So, of course we took Percie, and she loved all of the attention. Rylee was so happy to see her!

Happy 4th Birthday Rylee. Thanks for letting us come to your party!

Willie's

Friday night Joe's parent's came to spend the night. Mama, Joe, and I met them in Searcy. We drove to Pangburn to eat at my BFF Natalie's parent's restaurant, Willie's Fish House. It is a great little place to eat. They have fish, ribs, bar-b-que, and all the fixings. Right after we sat down, Natalie and her husband James walked in. So we got to have dinner with Natalie and James, too!

Mama, Natalie, James, Dannie, Charlotte, and Joe eating at Willie's. We got the chance to visit with Natalie's mom, Pam, for a minute, but they were very busy. James was a great waiter!

Joe's parent's came to help finish mama's privacy fence. She has a very large back yard, so it is a very large fence. They worked all day Saturday. Thank you so much, Dannie and Charlotte, for coming to help with the fence! Molly appreciates it, too. She will love it when she has a place to run!

Thursday Joe had a routine check-up at the doctor's office. He has to go every 3 to 6 months because of his diabetes. I went with him to this visit, and I am so glad I did. He has been having problems with his big toe nails, (this may be TMI if you have a weak stomach) and they had to remove his left big toe nail and half of his right big toe nail. He has been in a lot of pain, so he tried to help with the fence, but could not be on his feet long. We soak, wash, rinse, medicate, and bandage his toes every night. Hopefully they will be better soon!

Saturday morning I took Percie to the vet's office for her Thyroid Profile blood work. She did very well, and we should have the results on Friday. I am really loving our new vet and the staff. They adore Percie!

Today we did almost nothing. We slept a lot and just relaxed. We did go to mama's and have frozen pizzas for supper. They were great!

It's back to work for another week tomorrow.

Last Week...

Joe and I stayed at mama's house last week so she could visit my sister and her family before everyone goes back to school. Mama's house is busy with all of her critters.Meet Molly. She is a 11 month-old boston terrier. She looks sweet in this picture, but don't let it fool you. She is such a mess!! She definitely makes us laugh!! Meet Holly. She is an 11 year-old lasso apso. You will mostly find Holly sitting in mama's chair (if you out her up there) or sleeping on her dog bed on the floor.

Meet Eustacia Vi, AKA Stacy. Stacy is a good cat. The cats love sleeping in this bowl!

Meet Emily Katherine. She is a very large cat. She and Molly definitely fit in the mess category together. They even play together. Emily is a very friendly cat!

Meet Stella. (Yes, she is on the dining room table) She is the smallest of the cats. She is very sweet and loves to climb. There is not a surface in the house (including the mantle) that Stella has not been on. She loves it above the kitchen cabinets.

And of course Percie stayed with us, too. Molly has always loved Percie, but Percie did not return the love. Percie has recently decided to tolerate Molly. She will play with her, and let her lay beside her. Molly licks Percie all over her face! It is so cute! I will try to get a picture of them playing tug-a-war. It is too funny!

We had a busy but good week taking care of the critters!

Wonderful Weekend

Friday night Joe was out of town, so mama and I had a fun night planned. We ate Road Hog Bar-b-que, and drove to Cabot to see her friend's new house. We didn't get to go in because they haven't closed on it yet, but we did a drive by and the house is great! I love the neighborhood! Then we stopped at Movie Gallery and rented Confessions of a Shopaholic. It was a cute movie!

Saturday morning I traveled to Hot Springs to see some of my college sorority sisters. Go DZ! We went to the Buckstaff Bath House for some pampering. For some reason they didn't write down my name in the appointment book, so Stephanie and Beth were nice enough to hang out with me while the other girls were pampered! (The other girls were upstairs already and had no idea I didn't have an appointment.)
Beth, Stephanie, and I toured the Fordyce Bath House. These girls make me laugh! It was so humid, and not the best weather, but we had a great time!
Here we all are in front of the Buckstaff Bath House. L to R: Me, Beth, Jenna, Kelly, April, Stephanie, and Hayley. I was taking the picture, and this nice couple walked by and offered to take it for me.

Here we are hanging out in Stephanie's kitchen. Stephanie and Jenna made some yummy food, and April made yummy blueberry martinis.

April and Kelly enjoying the blueberry martinis.
Hayley had to head home early, so there were only six of us for dinner. Beth volunteered to ride in the back of Kelly's escape so we could all ride in one vehicle. I haven't hung out with Beth in a long time, but let me tell you girls...she is still the same Beth! She made us laugh until we cried many times! Thanks for always making us laugh, Beth!

We ate dinner at Picantes Grill in down town Hot Springs. The Mexican food was great! (Of course they got my nachos wrong, and they had to re-do them. It was just my day for that. I had a great time anyway!)

We made a short stop at the 19th hole, then back to Stephanie's to hang out. It was a great day! ASU's homecoming this year is on October 24. Yes girls, that is DZ's Founder's Day! We must plan to get together. I hope we can have an even bigger group!

Sunday mama, Joe, Percie, and I went out on the boat at Greers Ferry Lake for the day. It was a beautiful day! I tried to take pictures, but my camera kept saying "read error". It has said that before and the only thing that fixes it is deleting all of the pictures. I hadn't downloaded the pictures from Saturday yet, so I didn't want to do that. The camera is fixed now.

Here is Percie Sunday night after we got home from the lake. Percie says riding on the boat all day wears her out!

I had a great weekend! Thanks for making it so much fun!
