The Big News

I'M PREGNANT!

13 weeks and 1 day pregnant to be exact.

Whew.  It feels good to type that.  I've been waiting 8 weeks to do that!  :) Which would be the main reason I haven't blogged lately.  I have had a very hard time keeping my mouth shut!
I'm sure a lot of you have a lot of questions, and I don't blame you at all. I had a lot of questions and I am the one pregnant!  So, if I don't answer them in this post, please feel free to ask away.  I don't mind answering at all. I know there are a lot of you still hurting and hoping.  I've been there.  And I will never forget.  And I'm here if you ever need to chat.

Here are just a few facts.  I am 13 weeks pregnant.  I am due June 12, 2014.  We have had 3 ultrasounds already and everything has been perfect and just like it should be every time.

I go back for my 16 week appointment on December 23rd.  It will be my first appointment with no ultrasound.  I won't know what to do.  :)  We will find out the gender at the big ultrasound around January 24th.  I will be 20 weeks.

I have had every pregnancy symptom possible.  I won't go into detail, but I know this is a good thing and it means everything is working just like it should.  And for that I am thankful!

We have told the kiddos and their reactions were priceless.  Joe explained to Daniel that he would be a big brother again. Joe asked him what big brothers do and his response:  Help mama take care of the kids.  He wanted to know immediately how he could help.  Then his next question was is it a boy or a girl.  :)  He wants to know NOW.  Then he kissed my belly and told the baby he loves him/her.  He has really enjoyed sharing our news with everyone.

When we told David he says "Oh.  Mama, you have a baby in your belly?  Oh, okay."  And he runs off to play.  He really hasn't mentioned it since.  I know he knows, but he just doesn't wish to talk about it at this time.  :)

When we told Mary Blanche she ran and got her baby doll.  And in the last week or so, she has decided she isn't a baby anymore.  She will tell me, "that's for a baby."  She is killing me.  She is growing up too fast.  I didn't expect to be able to have conversations with her, her play with her brothers just like she is as big as them, and have her dressing and undressing herself before she turned 2.  Goodness.

We found out when I was a little over 5 weeks pregnant.  It happened to be the day we left to go to ASU's homecoming where I got to see tons of my friends.  And I kept my mouth shut.  Know how hard that was??  And. I was sick as a dog and we didn't make it to the game because I was in bed.  But, at least we made it to the DZ stuff that morning and lunch.  Did I mention how hard it has been to keep my mouth shut??

This sweet baby is most definitely an answer to many years of prayer.  I really like Daniel's explanation best.  We had a pretty lengthy discussion with him after the adoption was final about me not being able to have a baby in my belly.  Poor guy had a ton of questions.  We answered them the best we could on a 5 year old level.  The day after we told him that I do in fact have a baby in my belly, he runs up to me with a big grin on his face and says"You tricked me!"  I said, huh?  "Mama, you tricked me.  You told me God said you couldn't have a baby in your belly."  I told him that that is what the doctors had told us.  And he says "But not God.  He said you CAN have a baby in your belly!"
Yes, we are just as shocked as you are.  :)
